The Specialized Dissident 2 Zipmount is a GoPro chin mount shaped for this helmet alone. It lies flat on the angled upper face of the chin grille: two zip ties wrap the grille's sturdy middle bar, two run through the side vents around the chin bar — no adhesive tape, no changes to the helmet. On the helmet the mount sits so flush you barely notice it, and the standard GoPro foot fits DJI and Insta360 too. It sits high on the shell, leaving room for a neck brace.
Each mount is designed for exactly one helmet at the model year shown above. The fit is tight. The model year is on the sticker inside the helmet. If you're unsure, email me a photo and I'll confirm the right version before you order. How to find your model and year →
Yes. The mount has the standard GoPro foot, so any action camera with a GoPro-style fitting goes on it — DJI and Insta360 included.
It needs no modifications to the helmet at all. The mount threads through existing vents in the helmet with zip ties that spread the load over a wide area — no teeth or claws gouging the EPS liner the way clamp mounts do.
It's printed in durable PETG and handles normal riding and the usual knocks — riders have had them survive real crashes intact. It's still a printed part, so after a hard impact give the mount and the zip ties a quick check for cracks or looseness, and swap the zip ties if in doubt. Otherwise just wipe it clean.
Most do. Cameras and neck braces come in different sizes and shapes, so I can't promise every combination — but I've specifically flagged the mounts that sit high enough on the helmet to guarantee neck-brace clearance. Look for the “Guaranteed neck-brace clearance” label on the product page. Unsure about your own brace? Email me a photo.
Zipmount is a camera accessory, not safety equipment — it does not improve or replace your helmet's protection. I am not the helmet maker and have not re-tested the helmet with a mount fitted, so I cannot speak to its certification; attaching any accessory may affect it. Follow your helmet manufacturer's guidance. More on the safety & instructions page.
