Safety & instructions
A Zipmount is a camera accessory for full-face helmets. This page covers how to fit and use it safely — and what it is not.
An accessory, not safety equipment
A Zipmount is a camera mount — it is not safety equipment and not part of your helmet's protection. It does not improve or replace the helmet's protective function. We are not the helmet maker and have not re-tested the helmet with a mount fitted, so we cannot warrant its certification. Attaching any accessory may affect a helmet's approval — always follow your helmet manufacturer's guidance.
Fitting & use
- Choose the mount designed for your exact helmet model and model year.
- Fit it as instructed, through the helmet's own vents with the supplied zip ties. Do not drill, glue or modify the helmet.
- Tighten the zip ties firmly so the mount does not wobble — but do not over-tighten.
- See the full install guide.
Warnings
- Intended for mountain biking (full-face helmet) only. Not for motorsport, motorcycle or other high-speed use.
- Inspect the mount and zip ties before every ride. Replace worn or damaged parts.
- Replace the mount and zip ties after any crash or impact, even if they look intact.
- A camera adds mass and a protrusion to the chin bar — be aware of this, especially in a crash. Use only a lightweight action camera (GoPro / DJI / Insta360 class).
- The mount is made of PETG. Do not leave the helmet and mount in a hot car or in prolonged direct sun — the plastic can soften at high temperatures.
- Always use an intact, correctly fitted, standards-compliant helmet according to its manufacturer's instructions.
Material & care
The mount is 3D-printed from PETG and ships with UV-resistant zip ties. Clean with a damp cloth; do not use solvents. Check its condition regularly.
